Here are two images from our trip out East. The first one was shot with my handy iPhone out of the window of the train as we passed by New York City. I love the quality of the light. Magical.

The second image encapsulates our adventure- a fabulous whirlwind with tons of fun!

I am thrilled about what 2010 has in store! The wedding season is booking up quickly, so be sure to call soon if you are interested in a summer date. As for portraits I am booking into April. If you are interested in a newborn session please call and we will try to squeeze you in early to capture the "newness" of your little one. Portrait sessions will be limited this year due to the fun wedding season we have planned! Get on the schedule now to ensure your spot.

I am so excited to be working with all of the brides, grooms and families that I have scheduled this year. What a beautiful group both inside and out. I am honored to be welcomed into your special moments.

Their newest addition threatened to come early so we moved the maternity shoot up just in case...but low and behold she waited until the very end to make her arrival.

What a gorgeous growing family. Enjoy this time to revel in the newborn-ness and the excitement of a two year old at Christmas.

2009

As I am wrapping up 2009, I am finally catching up on a few sessions from last month. I am obviously drawn to black and white right now- maybe it's the cold weather?

"The ministry we will be working with is, Asian Hope. Asian Hope has a boys and girls home for children who are orphaned or have been abandoned. Asian Hope has committed to caring for those great kiddos through college. It is an amazing opportunity for those children to get a great education and then impact their country with a skill that can help others. Asian Hope started an international school and will also start a school in January 2010 for Cambodian students only. In a country that has been so broken, Asian Hope is offering hope through loving homes and education for children in need. Our commitment to Asian Hope is 3 year minimum... we look forward to getting to our new home soon!"

The Ohlin's are trying to wrap up their fund raising to get their work started. If you are interested in learning more or donating to their efforts the website is http://www.asianhope.org/. The Ohlin's will also be chronicling their journey on their blog at uttermostpart.blogspot.com.

Before they head overseas...we did a little photo shoot around Old Town Fort Collins so that they have some family photos to take with.

I am so thankful to have a job in which I can bring your moments and memories to you, so that you have them to cherish throughout time.

Steve also photographed our family that morning...but due to one little 2 year old... things did not go as planned. I will be amazed Steve, if you were able to salvage anything due to your misbehaving clients!! Thanks for putting up with us!

So, any of you out there that stress about your children acting poorly during the shoot, trust me, I get it.

This is an amazing call to action being heard all around the world...so photographers out there, grab your camera and get involved.

There is a wonderful group of crazy talented photographers here in Fort Collins heeding the call and banding together on December 12th to create portraits for those who usually do not get this privilege.

So if you are out there and you are a photographer, make-up artist, hairstylist, cookie maker, great organizer... We need you.

If you fall into any of these wonderful categories below (that was creatively put together by Sarah of Photo De Novo)... We need you.

"First, we need people to take pictures of. If you know ANYBODY who would be blessed by the gift of a free portrait this year, let us know (contact info below). Those of you who are employed at or involved in churches, hospitals, nursing homes, or various other philanthropic-type organizations - keep your eyes peeled. My hope is that we will be able to accommodate every single request. I want this to be a blessing to our community as a whole, not just to a few lucky people.

Second, we need people to help get the word out. If you know how to do Internet-y stuff, or graphic design, or how to hand out flyers, we can use you. Or, you can just copy and paste this post in an email to others in the Fort Collins area!

Third, we need people to help the day of the event. It could be as simple as greeting people at the door and handing them a hot chocolate, or writing down contact info for our "clients." We also need help downloading and organizing files, and photo "assistants" to move stuff around and hand the photographers lenses and that kind of thing. It's not hard - it's awesome.

Fourth, we need people AFTER the event to help process images. If you have Photoshop/LightRoom skills, etc, this is your department.

Fifth, we need help packaging and delivering images to the "clients." This could just mean a trip to the Post Office, or if you want to hand-deliver, we'd be glad to have you!

There are probably a lot of other ways to get involved that I haven't thought of yet. But we'll figure it out. The important thing is your willingness to help."

I am so glad that I get to capture all of your changes from year to year. It is amazing to watch you grow as individuals and as a family. I am so lucky to have you in my life. Thank you for the privilege of being welcomed into your moments.

A huge thank you to my amazing second shooter Steve Glass and to Heather of Table 6 Productions for all of her hard work. Also, if you are looking for a great DJ for your wedding- Phil of A Music Plus had everyone on their feet all night. It was a fabulous party!

We were able to play around in Old Town Fort Collins, hit the train tracks and still jump into the park for some natural Colorado backgrounds! What an awesome family.

Oh how fun this age is!!

I love when you walk in the door and one kiddo is in tears and the other is hiding behind a chair. Isn't that "real" life? Of course it is. Yet...by the end of the shoot we were giggling and chasing each other all over the yard- and I was even tackled to the ground by these darling kids. Now that's what I call a successful shoot!
