Ahh-vacation
I am catching up after a brief hiatus to California. It was a wonderful respite. I actually sat and read a book- something I love to do, but never get the time to enjoy! Here is a snippet of our vacation seen through my iPhone. I tried to leave the camera behind most of the trip and enjoy life through my eyes and not a camera lens. It was a fun challenge.
Where has Rachel been?
Minnesota, Vail, New York City, New Haven & Philadelphia! It has been a whirlwind through the holidays and the beginning of January….but it has been terrific! Here are two images from our trip out East. The first one was shot with my handy iPhone out of the window of the train as we passed by New York City. I love the quality of the light. Magical. The second image encapsulates our adventure- a fabulous whirlwind with tons of fun! I hope that 2010 has started off wonderfully for each of you. I am thrilled about… Read More »
What a year
Not only has it been an incredible year for photographing other people’s families…it has been an incredible year with our family as well. It’s amazing to see the changes from last year to this year. We have so much to be thankful for. 2008 2009
Our little monkey
If you see us around town- she might still be in her monkey suit. I can’t seem to get her out of it! Oh how fun this age is!!
My own family
I love spending time photographing other people’s families so that they have images to look back on and cherish…so I finally focused on my family so that I can have images to look back on and cherish (that have me in them and not behind the camera!) The wonderful and talented Julie Afflerbaugh recently photographed us in Boulder. Thank you Julie for the great images, I am so happy to have these to remember this time in our lives!!! A snippet of our week away
We have had a wonderful week in Minnesota. The weather has been much cooler than expected, but I love it! We spent the first portion in the Twin Cities playing in the lakes and visiting family and having fun riding bikes and scooters. Then Steve and I were able to escape (without the toddler!) for a few days on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It was gorgeous! Then we headed to the lake cabin. The dogs LOVE it (and so do we!). Our little one LOVED the boat! And she even had a blast… Read More »
Pickles, Pickles and more Pickles!
What do you do when you have a summer off after 4 years of med school and then 4 years of residency. You make lots of pickles. Well, no not really. But if you are Auntie Krista you are an over achiever and you try to learn and do all of these fabulous things that you haven’t had any time to do during the last 8 years and that you most likely won’t have time to do when you start with your new practice. But I have to say we are benefiting from her craftiness…yummy… Read More »
On a personal note…
I said that I would throw in a personal story or two along the way and I have been remiss. Life gets going a warp speed during the summer with weddings and portrait sessions. Yet, I have been trying very hard amidst all of the fabulous work, to take time out, put it all away and enjoy our family and friends too. Because, really, what is life all about? There is nothing more important to me than our family and friends and the time we spend together! Here is just a tiny taste of our… Read More »
What FUN!
A little levity to get everyone through the busy wedding season. This made me smile…and well up with tears. The pure joy is so evident. What a fun unique celebration! Well done. I wish I was their photographer! Click here to watch JK Wedding Dance Entrance.
