Learnfest & Jose Villa
Wow, wow, wow! How can I begin to describe the fun I had at these two workshops?? In April I attended Learnfest09 at the beautiful Château Élan in Atlanta hosted by Audrey Woulard, Tamara Lackey, Lena Hyde & Laura Novak – four of the most outstanding ladies in the industry of children’s portraiture. If you have not checked out their work…by all means go do it! It was a 2 day workshop filled with inspiration and in depth learning. I walked away with so many fabulous ideas and so many pearls that I have adopted into my own portrait business. I was amazed with these four women- each very different from one another other in business and personality- but each extremely successful! I think that added to the value of this workshop…you could gain different ideas from each and everyone of them. Thank you Audrey, Tamara, Lena and Laura for being so open and willing to share. You each are a huge inspiration!!
I didn’t take many pictures at Learfest…I was too busy absorbing all of the information and was enthralled with watching Tamara and Audrey interact with the kids! (Tamara does whatever it takes to get the shot- including jumping in the fountain!)
The other amazing workshop that I attended last week was by Jose Villa– one of the top wedding photographers in the world! Not only is he an incredible photographer, he is one of the most gracious people I have ever met. Jose shared so many wonderful tidbits and it was absolutely fabulous to watch him shoot. I learned a lot about how a little direction can go a long way when working with a bride and groom. Thank you Jose for everything you shared! The workshop was hosted by the ever fabulous James Christianson & Julie Afflerbaugh– thank you to both of you for all of your hard work!
Flowers were provided by Fiori Flowers in Boulder and makeup was provided by Jessica at the Face Lab– both of which were outstanding!
Also a huge thank you to our gorgeous models- Autumn, Lewis and Josselyn- you made our jobs very easy! I did take more images at Jose’s workshop…so here they are!
