Regina & John- Coronado Island Wedding
This wedding was extra special to me, because Regina is my darling cousin! It was such an honor and privilege to be the one entrusted to capture all of her memories for her. Their day was full of so much love and FUN…as I expected it to be with these two dynamic people, who are full of life.
You may remember Regina and John from their Colorado engagement session last winter. As I mentioned in that post, these two have hearts of gold and also have tons of energy. Regina is a preschool teacher for special needs children and John is a kindergarten teacher. Their amazing spirits shined throughout their wedding day.
What I love about every wedding is the special touches that each couple thinks of to incorporate. These things can be big or small, but they always make the wedding unique to the couple. One of Regina & John’s special touch ideas was incorporating big balloons (I learned a lot about the helium shortage- I had no idea!). We took the balloons to the beach with the bridal party and had some fun…and we created one of my favorite images ever from a wedding- Regina “floating away.” The other thing I loved about their wedding was their food. As Regina said “we aren’t fancy people” so they didn’t feel it was necessary to have a crazy fancy meal… so they hired their favorite taco guy to cater the wedding and it was DELICIOUS! (Some of the best food I have ever had at a wedding.) Brilliant idea…and one that made the day even more unique to Regina and John.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful love, excitement for life and beautiful souls with me. It was so fun to be part of your wedding day. I can’t wait to watch your love grow throughout the years.
And a gigantic THANK YOU to Rachel of Rachel Clare Photography for being an incredible second shooter! It was so fun to catch up with you…so wish we lived closer!
Best, Rachel
Looks like you all had a wonderful time! Way to rock those portraits, moments, and details!!! The balloons on the beach turned out to be a great concept, especially with the ‘bride floating away.’ Rach, I see your energy and spirit in these images. Well done!
