Cropping Guide for Photographic Prints
I often get asked about cropping options when printing photos. It can be a bit confusing when you are trying to decide between a 5×7, 8×10, 8×12, etc.! So, here is a handy dandy guide to let you know how images come out of camera (full frame) and how different size prints end up cropping the image. Hopefully it is a clean and easy way for you to see how an image will be altered when printed in different sizes. Luckily my new (almost ready) proofing site will let you visualize the crop before submitting… Read More »
Kristin & David’s Catamount Ranch Wedding – In Film
As I was going through my 2013 weddings, I realized that I posted my digital images of Kristin & David’s beautiful wedding at Catamount Ranch, but never showed you what my foray into shooting film at a wedding turned out like! Some of you may have read my post about my little adventure & self challenge of going “backwards” or back to shooting film, in an effort to slow myself down and really look at things before I release the shutter… if you haven’t click on over here to get all the details on why… Read More »
Redstone Inn Wedding Album Layout
I realized that I have never really showcased any final wedding album designs, so I thought that I should start sharing some of them! First up, I will share Kate & Ralf’s beautiful album. Their wedding day was some much fun at the picturesque Redstone Inn! The complete wedding album ended up being a 42 page, 12×12 flush mount album. To add the finishing touches to the album they chose a black leather cover with kate + ralf in modern font imprinted on the spine. They also chose to use one of my favorite holga images… Read More »
Lauren & Travis- Vail Engagement Session
From the first time I met with Lauren & Travis, I knew that I would love working with them. They are fun loving, adventure seeking & so easy to be around! I had the best time with them outside of Minturn Colorado during their engagement session. Their sweet pups joined us, and their 16 year old girl was a trooper tromping through the snow with us! I love clients who embrace the outdoors and aren’t afraid to get a little snowy…and Lauren & Travis were no exception. I absolutely can’t wait for their ranch… Read More »

Kristin & David- Steamboat Springs Wedding
Kristin & David had a beautiful Steamboat Springs Wedding which was held at the idyllic Catamount Ranch Historic Barn. Their wedding day was filled with lots of tender moments, a ton of laughter and a a whole lot of fun (plus some serious rain and an unexpected power failure). But their wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to Kristin & David’s amazing attitudes and Lindsey’s, of One Fine Day Productions, incredible planning & execution. It was such a joy to work with Kristin & David from the very first time we met. They were very relaxed (yet… Read More »
Something New (or old)
I have been playing lately… and not just with my two little girls. I have been playing with film, and it has been such a wonderful exercise for me. And yes, I have been asked a million times “why would want to go backwards?” And my answer is, that right now in my career AND in my life I feel as if I need to go backwards in order to go forwards. Sounds crazy, I know, but I need something to slow me down, to make me pause, to make me take the time to appreciate… Read More »
Laurie & Jeff- Sevens Breckenridge Wedding
Laurie & Jeff had a beautiful, fun filled mountain wedding at Sevens in Breckenridge, and I am so thankful they chose me to photograph it. Laurie and Jeff, you have been so fun to work with, thank you… and Laurie I will never forget your wonderful smile and great laugh…it is contagious. Their day started with the fun getting ready festivities at the Crystal Peak Lodge nestled at the base of Peak 7 in Breckenridge. Then we set up a great first look location in the forest nearby, and luckily all of Laurie and Jeff’s family… Read More »
John & Janet – Ten Mile Station Wedding
Their wedding day started out as a cloudy, socked in, rainy day up at Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge. But that did not stop Janet & John! Janet & John planned a beautiful Breckenridge wedding with friends and family flying in all the way from the east coast, and a little rain could not derail their plans! (And luckily we were dealing with Colorado weather… as we say, if you don’t like the weather, wait 10 minutes and most likely it will change!) After their first look we got a little creative, as it began to… Read More »
