Some of you know that our extended family will soon include another professional wedding photographer RJ Kern of Kern Photo. We can’t wait to add him to our family. One bonus to adding another photographer is that I actually get to be in some pictures now! RJ did a wonderful photo shoot of the four of us when our littlest girl was 5 weeks old. I will cherish these photos forever! You can read more about this shoot here and here. RJ does a great job discussing film vs digital. Can you tell the difference?… Read More »
We welcomed our new baby girl into our family on November 5th, 2011! Everyone is happy, healthy and enjoying this time together as a family. Our oldest is loving her new role as a big sister…and I am loving my new role of mother of two little ladies! I will be limiting my use of the computer over the next few months so that I can cherish this time. So if there is a delay in getting back to you, I apologize…but I promise you will hear from me soon!
Well, it may be getting a little quiet around these parts over the next few weeks/months. We are gearing up for the arrival of the newest Olsen, any day now… literally. We are waiting on pins a needles (with lots of anxiety on my part) to meet this newest bundle. So if you are trying to reach me, and there is a delay… just know that I will return your call or email, it just may take me a little longer than normal. Thank you to Julie Afflerbaugh for these great photos!
I have a lot of work and blogging to catch up on after returning from Maine, but last night we took some time to enjoy a phenomenal meal prepared by Meadow Lark Farm Dinners, hosted by Oxford Gardens Farm in Boulder. It was so nice to slow down for an evening; enjoy amazing food, wonderful company and gorgeous surroundings. What a treat.
The Olsen Family has exciting news!! We are expecting in early November! Our daughter is overjoyed at the prospect of being a big sister (she has been asking for “her own baby” for about 9 months now!) and we are thrilled to be adding another sweet little being to our family. With this exciting news in mind…plan ahead this summer for your family portraits. I will have a limited number of sessions available, and will be wrapping things up earlier in the fall for holiday portraits so that I have ample time before the babe… Read More »
Last weekend it was brought to my attention by a potential client that my contact form was not working. She said she sent me an email through it a few months ago and never heard from me. Yikes! I raced home and tested all of the contact forms and low and behold- my blog contact form was not working. I got ahold of my programmer immedialtely and it is now resolved- and I have received multiple inquires since it was fixed on Wednesday. BUT, if you tried to contact me over the last few (I don’t know… Read More »
Well, not really! It may have been quiet on the blog recently (sorry for that!) but on the back end- in real life- it has been VERY busy! There will be some exciting changes coming to Rachel Olsen Photography in the next few months… new brand, new online look, new proofing & ordering system, new LOCAL (amazing!) lab to work with, new client management system! Basically, I am working to update the online look and feel of Rachel Olsen Photography from the ground up. With all of the new things coming, the most important aspect… Read More »
Cherish the joy found in the simple things in life! Wishing you all the best in the year to come. Best, Rachel
We finally made it! The weather cooperated with me (not the Haugos) and brought some rain so that the wheat harvest was delayed. I have been dying to see harvest for 6 years…and this year we were able to time it right- and we were even able to ride in the combines! Thank you SO much to the extended Haugo family for inviting us out to the farm and into the combines to witness the hard work that you put in each and every day. It was an amazing experience for me, but I am… Read More »
When I am not behind the camera for you, I am usually behind the camera for me! I can’t seem to put it down, and for that reason our daughter is going to grow up either loathing the camera or ignoring it since she is so use to it. This is a snippet from the beginning of our week. My mom, my daughter and I get to spend Mondays together. I always look forward to it. I feel so fortunate to have that time with both of the leading ladies in my life. This week… Read More »
